I know what you're thinking, why on earth would a 50 year old woman even WANT to jump rope? Fair question, it does boggle the mind a bit. But I found myself still looking for something to do after a quick workout this morning and saw the jump rope just sitting there taunting me. I knew I could DO it, it just wouldn't be pretty.
Well, it wasn't! I promise to never do it again. Things were just a' jigglin. Sad day.

Sue, I wouldn't even jump rope and I'm still RELATIVELY firm. I swear, jumping rope is for 12 year-old, pre-pubescent girls and skinny guys (ie. Jeff, David, etc). Nothing to jiggle.

I can't jump rope anymore either - I don't know if I ever really could though... it probably scared me or something - what didn't scare me growing up???
Anyway - I was very very very impressed with Dad's jumping rope the other weekend at Papa and Connie's and then doubley impressed with James' ability to become a 10 year old black girl and nearly double dutch right in front of my eyes - it was so funny! good times good times!
James has maaany similar qualities to a 10 year old black girl.

Yeah, you ready for some hilarity? Maggie and I were on the jump rope team when I was in the 4th grade at Reedville. We even went around to other elementary schools showing off our "skills".
Maggie’s specialty was the triple- and quadruple-under jump, and of course the giant egg beater. Two giant ropes in the form of a ‘+’ and spun at the same time, with the goal being to make it into the middle where the ropes cross and jump there.
My favorite was doing a sort or alternating-spin double-dutch. You used two long ropes, spun them on opposite beats with the other spinner creating two jump areas going in opposite directions, and then brought them together to form a double-dutch version. It was pure chaos and I loved it.
I'm getting a bit nostalgic. I think we need to get some of those giant ropes and make bloody fools of ourselves trying to relive our youth.
Pretty sure I'd pee in my pants if I tried to jump anything right now. I peed (not completely, but enough) in my pants the other day from sneezing so hard. Glad I was at home. Pregnancy woes...
